Stress is my trigger

Not sure if anyone noticed... but I've been MIA (missing in action) for about a month... and what a sucky month it's been. Because I'm a stay-at-home mum, people seem to ask me to do things and help them a lot more (thinking I must have soooo much time on my hands) and because I'm not good at saying NO, I've been saying 'yes'. BIG MISTAKE.

I've been so stressed with too much to do that exercise was the first to go, then food went next... Oh dear... I'm embarrassed to think about the food I've been eating. I've gained back 2.5kg, I'm surprised it's not more to be honest. Some days I've eaten ONLY carbs... how ridiculous is that? I've been putting food into my mouth, thinking, 'why am I eating this', yet I keep eating.

I have issues!

I'm back on track now, but struggling. I need to fight through this until I'm over the cravings again. Wish me luck!

  1. I was going to leave a comment on the previous post and ask for an update as I had noticed you were MIA. You are not the only one who has gained. I have also gone up 3Kg!!! But training for a marathon is tough on protein only and sometimes I just don't know what to eat as I am over boiled eggs, salmon and Tuna. I've been eating a lot of protein bars but before my big runs I am having stir-frys with rice. I've also been drinking a lot of wine - eek!! I start fresh on the 30th July - New house, new job and a fresh start I am telling myself!!

It is tough saying no to people. I also know that being at home all day you don't necessarily get much done for a range of reasons.... for some reason I am more productive during term time than during my holidays when I have a lot more time on my hands..

Good that you blogged and owned up though!!!

  2. You can do it, ZG!!! Stress is what triggers me to eat more, too. However, it is so admirable that as a stay-at-home mum, you've managed to lose weight. Sure there's been a step back, but you can do it, girl, you're a trooper! ;)

  3. So glad to have you back. Keep on trying and trying. Success isn't about perfection or always doing what is right. Often it is about acknowledging and learning from mistakes and trying again and again to reach our goals. I believe in you. Also, learn the word "no". :) Because you are worth it.
