Day 95 ~ ouchie

I've been suffering from a groin hernia for about 4 years. It comes and goes a bit, but yesterday it was so super painful that I was almost crying. I think I've been lifting too much lately and that often makes it worse. I will get it operated on, but they won't do that til I've had all my children. So today's run didn't happen, well actually there is NO WAY I could run with it hurting like this.

I was only ok with food yesterday as I had a few bowls of muesli instead of protein, as I needed comfort food (for some reason muesli is my comfort food at the moment).

Oh and my favourite food at Christmas is: Lemon Meringue Cheesecake. I could probably make it mostly dukan friendly, if I left out a few ingredients, but sweetened condensed milk will be hard to find an alternative for and it's sooooo delicious.
Hope everyone is well.

  1. Hey, thanks for the comment on my blog :-) I totally agree with you about not revealing to others that I am "dieting" they just don't understand that I'm not happy having a spare tyre around my waist even if they are OK with it! Sorry to hear you are in pain, that is frustrating. The Lemon meringue cheesecake sounds nice - to be honest I would make it how you prefer it and not "dukanise it" eat a nice portion - feel like you've had your treat and move on. It is not everyday we get to eat our favourite foods and I'm of the mind-set know that if I have had my little share then I don't need to indulge further and fall off the wagon completely. Like having a celebration meal then back to the routine.

  2. Sorry to hear you are in pain!! hope you feel better soon and I agree with wwangel, every once in a while if you feel you need to eat something "bad", do it, but don't go wild! just have a portion, close your eyes, enjoy it and then keep going!!!

  4. Sorry to hear about that pain! That sucks.
I posted a recipe here that might make for a decent substitute for a lemon-y dessert - althought it's a far cry from lemon meringue pie (which you should at leat have once if it's your favorite!):
